On Sunday 22nd September 2019, Team S&J took part in the Sheffield 10k Corporate Challenge to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield. Members of staff from Spear & Jackson UK, Eclipse Magnetics, and S&J Corporate office made up the team, as part of the Spear & Jackson Group of companies.
The eight employees began the race at the starting point on Arundel Gate in torrential rain, but didn’t let it dampen their spirits or enthusiasm! The route took them through the city centre along Charter Row, and up Ecclesall Road, before skirting the edges of Endcliffe park, and back for a city
The team raised an impressive total of over £1,700 all for St Luke’s Hospice, who provides specialist palliative care services in Sheffield. As a charity, all of St Luke’s services are free to the public, but as just 25% of its funding comes from the NHS, St Luke’s have to raise more than £10 million every year.
